Kara & Josh | Weirton WV Engagement Session

By Erica Zlatovich

Hey friends! This year has already been filled with so much adventure and fun! Kara and Josh’s engagement session being one of the most fun adventures yet! When we were planning their session, Kara described her and josh’s style as “completely different”. We took this opportunity to really give them a variety of looks that match both of their styles and personalities. The first location that we visited was the Weirton Suspension Bridge. We did the hour and a half drive after work and met with them around midnight. Anyone who has ever been on this bridge knows how small of a walk way you have on the sides, and let’s not forget the fact that there is nothing protecting you from oncoming traffic! It was interesting trying to make this work with such small room, and with all of the pedestrians, but we did it! We can now cross “have a session in the middle of a suspension bridge” off of our list.

While walking around we jumped at photo opportunities in front of the Capitol and an awesome little alley beside it.

The next day, we met up and began an awesome session throughout Weirton. Our first stop was Oglebay Resort. We couldn’t get over how gorgeous it is there!

The next stop was Centre Market to capture the beauty of the town.

Next, we made a pit stop at a set of train tracks, per Josh’s request. What better way to capture Josh’s outdoorsman side and the stunning essence of West Virginia! Even though we do not promote shooting on train tracks due to the hazards, we just couldn’t pass up taking a few shots at this GORGEOUS location. The colors, the river and the hills in the background were just perfect.

Our last stop was the football field at Josh and Kara’s high school, were they met and began dating. High school sweethearts are just so precious!

We had a beautiful golden sunset to wrap up their extremely awesome session! We had a blast exploring their town and can’t wait to go back for their wedding next year!
