{Jake & Kelsey} Phipps Conservatory Proposal

On July 1st, Kelsey said YES to spending forever with Jake and we had the pleasure to capture it for them! They would be moving two hours away shortly and Jake knew this would be his last opportunity to pop the question beforehand. They planned a night out with friends in Pittsburgh, and along the way, as planned, a friend called Jake to tell him they were “running behind and would be there later.” Knowing Kelsey loves nature and flowers, he played it very smoothly and suggested they go check out Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. We were patiently (actually, impatiently… I never guessed how excited and anxious I would be!) waiting for them to come into the Orchid Room. We saw them come in the first door, and immediately began pretending we were just there to take pictures of flowers. I totally learned how terrible of an actress I am! My heart was pounding more and more the closer they got to the selected spot. There were cute little frogs at the selected spot that caught Kelsey’s eye, so Jake sneaked behind her and got down on one knee. She turned around to a huge surprise and her dream ring! 

Such a precious moment! Afterwards, we walked around Phipps taking some photos of them celebrating their big news! 

Some of these photos were taken in complete darkness! It was a slight challenge but we LOVE challenges and doing night portraits. Phipps has such an intimate feeling at night which created the perfect atmosphere!
